PC Boots to Windows Recovery Screen After Reboot

This article provides steps on how to troubleshoot an issue with a PC not booting up, comes up to blue screen asking to choose keyboard layout or to continue with Windows Rollback.

Common Signs or Symptoms:

The device boots into Windows Recovery.

Troubleshooting Steps:

If Use another operating system Is Available

1.  Select Use another operating system.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2. Choose the top operating system listed. Avoid clicking Undo Changes, you want to choose the top Windows 11 OS

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

3.Allow the device to attempt to start.

4. After a short time, you should be prompted to enter the BitLocker recovery key.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If  Use another operating system Is Not Available

1. Select Continue.
2. If prompted, enter the BitLocker recovery key.

If Windows still does not load:

1. Press Esc to return to additional recovery options.
2. Choose Advanced options.
3. Attempt to boot using Safe Mode.

If device will not boot in Safe Mode, there is likely more to be done, possibly up to a re-imaging. Sending a ticket to the Mobile Action Center, and consulting DE would be the next best steps if the above process does not get Windows to boot.
