Requesting an International Loaner Laptop for Travel

Summary

CU Fac/Staff/Students traveling internationally and requesting a loaner laptop.

Body

End State / Outcome

  • CU Fac/Staff/Students traveling internationally and requesting a loaner laptop.

How to Step

Due to international information security concerns, Creighton students, faculty and staff who are planning to travel to other countries are encouraged to first meet with the Global Engagement office. If a laptop is requested, they will then be directed to visit either the RAL Service Desk or MyIT Service Desk (Criss 3, Rm 458) to begin the laptop loan process.

CU Fac/Staff/Students traveling internationally and requesting a loaner laptop should do so at least 10 business days in advance.

RAL or MyIT Service Desk staff will:
1. Create a myIT service ticket by visiting http://myservices.edu > myIT Service Desk > End User Computing > Loaner Request and complete the form with required information.
2. Tickets created will go to the MyIT queue automatically.
3. International laptop setup should include:
• CU laptop images with the Office Volume License
• Local user admin account needs to be created (NOT user’s NetID)
• NO Creighton DATA should be stored on device whatsoever
4. When the laptop is returned, it will need to be completely wiped and re-imaged with the standard CU image (preferably Fac/Staff image).
