How to Steps

Enable Windows OneDrive AutoSave of Desktop, Documents, Pictures

Follow these steps to enable the AutoSave function for your Desktop, Documents, and Pictures folders in OneDrive:

  1. Install and Sign In: Install OneDrive and sign in with your account.
  2. Open OneDrive Settings: Right-click the OneDrive cloud icon in the taskbar (it may be in the hidden items section) and select Settings.
  3. Enable AutoSave: Go to the Auto Save tab and click Update Folders.
  4. Select Folders to AutoSave: Choose which folders you want to AutoSave (Desktop, Documents, or Pictures) and click Start Protection.
  5. Verify AutoSave: Check your OneDrive folder to ensure the selected folders (Desktop, Documents, Pictures) are there. If you have existing folders with the same names, rename them before enabling AutoSave. You will also notice green check marks next to files and shortcuts, indicating they are saved in the cloud.

Your files are now set to automatically save to OneDrive!
