Creighton is currently experiencing a Microsoft storage issue that continues to place OneDrive and SharePoint in a read-only state for some people. This prevents saving new files or changes directly to these platforms. The underlying issue has been resolved by Microsoft; however, Microsoft has advised that it may take 24–48 hours for the fix to fully propagate across the Creighton system. This timeline began on Saturday at approximately 12:00 p.m., and full restoration is expected once Microsoft completes the update.
What this means
During this period:
- You will continue to see messages indicating OneDrive or SharePoint is in read-only mode.
- Existing files remain accessible and can be downloaded.
- New files or edits cannot be saved directly to OneDrive or SharePoint until full restoration is complete.
Temporary workaround
Until services are fully restored, users can:
- Download/Save the files from OneDrive locally to your computer.
- Make necessary changes.
- Upload the updated file back to OneDrive or SharePoint once the system returns to normal.
Information Technology continues to work closely with Microsoft and will provide another update as soon as full write access is restored.
