Installing Lexis for Microsoft Office

Prerequisites / Minimum Requirements

Prior to installing Lexis ensure your device meets minimum system requirements, found on LexisNexis' Support Center: https://supportcenter.lexisnexis.com/app/answers/answer_view/a_id/1085198. Please note that IT will assist with the Lexis download, however, LexisNexis Support will support specific software features.

Lexis for Microsoft Office is installed on the target device.

How to Steps

Go to https://supportcenter.lexisnexis.com/app/answers/answer_view/a_id/1091244.

Windows Computers

  1. Click Install for Office Desktop for Windows.
  2. Open the LMO_Setup_23681.exe download through Open File or by double-clicking.
  3. Accept the terms in the License Agreement, click Next.
  4. Check each box next to each Microsoft Office application that needs Lexis (Outlook, Word), click Next.
  5. Leave the PDF conversion utility selected, click Next.
  6. Leave Update Manager selected to receive notifications for Lexis updates, click Next.
  7. Click Finish.
  8. Open Word or Outlook, the click LexisNexis on the top menu bar. When prompted, sign-in with Lexis credentials to access its features.

macOS Computers

  1. Click Install for Mac.
  2. Click Get it now.
  3. A new window appears that will redirect to the Microsoft Office Store, choose Open in Word.
  4. Click Lexis for Microsoft Office in the top Word menu bar.
  5. On the right-hand Lexis pane, choose Get Started.
  6. Sign in with Lexis credentials to access its features.
