How to Steps

First log in to your computer and open Microsoft Word.

Method 1: Using Combination Keys  (This is perhaps the quickest way to carry out the work.)

  1.  Open your Word document.
  2. Press Shift+ F5. You will be able to see the cursor at the last editing place.

Method 2: Inserting a Bookmark  (To use this way, you must do some work before you exit Word each time.)

  1. Click Insert on the Menu bar.
  2. Click Bookmark in Links group.

.

  1. You will see the Bookmark dialog box. Type a bookmark name in the text box.
  2. Click Add. A bookmark has been inserted.
  3. Exit Word.

  1. To continue editing the Word document, double-click to open.
  2. Click Insert.
  3. Click Bookmark.
  4. The Bookmark dialog box will open. Select the bookmark name you used last time.
  5. Click Go to button on the right side. You can find the precise position where you last stopped.

Method 3: Using the Find Feature

  1. When you finish editing, you need to remember the last word or words around the place before you exit the Word. For example, we here will choose the word mark as an example.

  1. Next time, you open the document first.
  2. Then click Find in Editing group. Or you can press Ctrl+ F. Both operations will enable you to open the Navigation Pane.
  3. Now type the word you remember in the search box. Here we should type the word mark.

  1. And you can see there are three matches. Click the right one. Here we choose the first one. So you notice the document jumps to the position where you edited last time

  1. However, there remains one problem. You probably have noticed there are several matches when you use Find feature. For this reason, you can type or insert a special symbol in the position you top, such as below:

  1. So when you use the Find feature to locate the position next time, you will quickly find it.
