Changing Your Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) Method

Prerequisites / Minimum Requirements

  • The Microsoft Authenticator app has been installed on your device.

End State / Outcome

  • Microsoft Authenticator is set as the default method for multifactor authentication (MFA) on your account.

How to Steps

To ensure that Microsoft authenticator is set as the default method for multifactor authentication (MFA) on your account complete the following steps.

 

  1. Go to https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info  and sign in if prompted.
  2. Click Change next to the Default sign-in method.

 

 

  1. Next select App based authentication - notification from the drop down list.

 

 

  1. The default Default sign-in method will now show Microsoft Authenticator.
