Pharos Printing Not Working After Upgrading to macOS 27

Users who upgrade a Mac to macOS 27 may experience issues printing with Pharos, including receiving the error message"The printer software is not compatible." This occurs because macOS 27 no longer installs Rosetta by default, which is required for certain Pharos components to run. Installing Rosetta restores Pharos functionality and allows users to print normally again. Prerequisites / Minimum Require

• The device is running macOS 27.
• Pharos printing was working prior to the upgrade.
• The user can install software on the device.
• The device is connected to the internet.

End State / Outcome

The user is able to successfully print using Pharos after installing Rosetta on a Mac running macOS 27. The Pharos Popup Client functions normally, and print jobs process without error.

How to Steps

Open Terminal.

1. Copy and paste the following command: /usr/sbin/softwareupdate --install-rosetta --agree-to-license

3. Press Enter and wait for Rosetta to install. 
4. Restart the Mac.
5. Sign back in and submit a test print job.
6. Verify the print job processes successfully. 

Alternative Method

1. Open Finder.
2. Select Go → Go to Folder.
3. Enter: /Library/Application Support/Pharos/
4. Open PopupConfiguration.app.
5. When prompted, select Install to install Rosetta. 
6. Restart the Mac and test printing again.

1. Open Self Service from applications
2. Install Rosetta

Notes:  After fix the pop up was still showing an error but printing was working.
