A residential student is defined as a student living in a campus residence hall. For these students permits are offered through the entire year except for garages which are given out by lottery. You will see your available options on your JayPark account.
Freshman Residents
- Freshman students living on campus may park only in the following locations:
- 30th Street Garage
- City Garage (19th Street & Capitol Avenue

- Residential Freshman Permit: $700
Non-Freshmen Residential Students

Garage Permits: First‑Come, First‑Served
- The garage lottery system is being eliminated.
- Residential garage permits will be sold first‑come, first‑served.
- Residential students will continue to receive priority access.
- Students may choose between:
- Annual permits, or
- Semester‑only permits for added flexibility.
- No monthly or weekly printable permit

Residential vs. Commuter Parking
- Campus parking areas will be clearly designated as residential or commuter.
- Commuter permits:
- Valid 6:00 a.m. – midnight
- Do not include overnight access
- This overnight reset improves daytime parking availability for residential students.

Kenefick Residents
- Garage permit sales open: May 11
- Permits are available first‑come, first‑served.
- A limited number of Kenefick‑ and Heider‑specific garage spaces will be available for purchase.
- These spaces are also sold first‑come, first‑served.
- Kenefick and Heider Residents will be able to purchase the 20th (ideal for Kenefick) and the 24th (ideal for Heider) garages.
- Residential Surface Permits will also be for sale

- Permits are available first‑come, first‑served.
- A limited number of Kenefick‑ and Heider‑specific garage spaces will be available for purchase.
- These spaces are also sold first‑come, first‑served.
- Kenefick and Heider Residents will be able to purchase the 20th (ideal for Kenefick) and the 24th (ideal for Heider) garages.
- Additional Parking Option for Heider Residents
- Heider residents will have an additional parking option beginning Fall 2026:
- Secured, gated surface parking located in the Physicians Mutual parking lot
- Priced the same as standard residential surface parking
- Permit holders must park in the Physicians Mutual lot during weekday hours
- Provides a secure alternative for residents seeking additional parking availability

- Residents of Opus, Davis, and Magis will receive an exclusive purchasing window. May 11
