Starting Fall 2026, campus parking will operate a little differently.
These updates are based on student feedback and are designed to make commuter parking more flexible, predictable, and fair.
Below is a summary of what’s changing and what it means for you.
What’s Changing for Fall 2026
Garage Permits: First‑Come, First‑Served
- The garage lottery system is being eliminated.
- Residential garage permits will be sold first‑come, first‑served.
- Residential students will continue to receive priority access.
- Students may choose between:
- Annual permits, or
- Semester‑only permits for added flexibility.
- No monthly or weekly printable permit
Health Sciences and Perimeter Permits
- These permits have been discontinued. A commuter is a commuter regardless of school.
Residential vs. Commuter Parking
- Campus parking areas will be clearly designated as residential or commuter.
- Commuter permits:
- Valid 6:00 a.m. – midnight
- Do not include overnight access
- This overnight reset improves daytime parking availability for residential students.
Commuter Parking Overview
- Commuter students may park in designated commuter surface parking areas across campus.
- Commuter parking areas are clearly marked and intended to support weekday academic and campus activities.
- All commuter permits provide weekday access only and do not allow overnight parking.
Permit Purchase Information
- All commuter permits go on sale June 1.
- Permits are sold first‑come, first‑served.
- Commuters will be able to purchase garage and surface permits.

- All Non-Freshmen Residents: May 11
- Commuters: June 1
- Freshmen: June 15
- Employee: July 1

- Commuter Garage
- Semester: $325
- Annual: $650
- Surface Parking
- Semester: $225
- Annual: $450
Important Notes for Commuter Students
- Commuter permits are valid only in designated commuter parking areas or approved commuter garages from 6 a.m. to midnight.
- Overnight parking is not permitted with any commuter permit.
- Commuter students are encouraged to use the JayPass program, which allows unlimited rides on the Metro bus system at no cost with a Creighton ID.
