What are the Holiday Parking Rules?

Parking Rules and Regulations are enforceable 24/7/365 including weekends, however modifications are made to the regulations during UNIVERSITY OBSERVED HOLIDAYS. Just because classes are not in session does not mean that Holiday rules apply. If employees are officially working on campus that students MAY NOT parking in employee parking. (Please see official list of observed Holidays below)

During official holidays surface lots will operate with weekend and evening rules.

  • All permit types may parking in any surface lot on campus
  • Specialty stalls may not be used unless authorized by permit, placard, or Parking Services permissions. This includes:
    • ADA stalls, Deans stalls, visitor stalls, and any other signed stall
  • Evening/Weekend permits are valid all day

University Observed Holidays:

  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Day after Thanksgiving
  • Christmas holiday break (the University is closed during the period from Christmas Eve through New Year’s Day)
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • Good Friday
  • Memorial Day
  • Juneteenth

Fall Break, Thanksgiving Break, Christmas Break, and Spring Break

  • Students are encouraged to keep their vehicles for these extended times by parking their vehicle in an approved garage.
  • Prior to each break information will be published in the SLIC Newsletter with specific dates and th garage that may be used for that break.
  • All vehicles that do not have a garage permit must be removed from the garage by the deadline to avoid citation.
