SOP Objective
Define and direct retirees in identifying systems access.
Roles and Responsibilities
Access to Creighton systems following retirement
Upon retirement, all retirees are granted access to Creighton systems. Your NetID, BLUE password, and your MFA Authentication app will continue to function and be your access point to Creighton systems. There will be ‘things’ that change. Once HR updates your status from employee to retiree, your access to systems like email and the Microsoft suite of tools will function differently. As an employee you have a paid license (A5 license) for many Microsoft applications, as a retiree your license will change to a limited use license (A1 license). Access to installed applications like Outlook, Word, Excel will stop working. You will, however, retain access to web accessible versions of these same applications. The only exception to this rule is for Emeritus faculty. Emeritus faculty will retain a full paid license (A5 license) granting access to Microsoft applications installed on a computer.
Key systems to use as a retiree:
AMI (ami.creighton.edu) – AMI is our identity and access management system; it is also the place you will go to change your password as required. AMI is also where you can go to reset your password if it is forgotten.
Creighton Email (outlook.office.com) – Access your Creighton web mail.
Microsoft Apps (portal.office.com) – This is where you can go to access all your Microsoft applications. Remember as a retiree you will not have access to Microsoft apps like Outlook, Word, Excel, etc. from your computer, you will only be able to access Microsoft apps through the online portal.
MyServices (myservices.creighton.edu) – This is the Service Desk site where you can search how to articles on how to use Creighton systems.
My.creighton (my.creighton.edu) – My.Creighton is the University Intranet site where you can find all non-public information about the University, like information on parking or the Kiewit Fitness Center.
Getting support in retirement
Creighton will provide IT support for retirees in a manner like employees. You can access the myservices page for self-service articles and information, or you can call the service desk at 402-280-1111 or 800-329-1011 during normal business hours. Just like support for employees, the Service desk will not support personal computer issues, only access to Creighton systems.
