Backup Sticky Notes in case of reset or reimage of machine

Prerequisites / Minimum Requirements

  • Sticky Notes Backup/Restore for windows 10 v. 1709 and later
  • Need to backup Sticky Notes in case of reset or reimage of machine

End State / Outcome

  • Restore Sticky Notes after reset or reimage of machine.

How to Steps

Backup

1.  Close Sticky notes.

2.  Open File Explorer and paste this into the address bar:  %LocalAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftStickyNotes_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState

3.  Copy plum.sqlite to a backup location of your choice.

Restore

1.  Close Sticky notes.

2.  Open File Explorer and paste this into the address bar:  %LocalAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftStickyNotes_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState

3.   Paste plum.sqlite file back in the folder.
