How to Steps
CalDigit Docking Station
A brief overview on common problems that you might run into when working with a CalDigit Docking Station and a MacBook and resources to help troubleshoot.
· Troubleshooting check marks before contacting CalDigit Support
o Check that the docking station is properly plugged in.
o Exclusively use CalDigit’s thunderbolt cable to connect the docking station to the MacBook
o Check the Battery settings on Mac
§ System Preferences > Battery > Battery
· Uncheck Optimized battery charging
· Uncheck Automatic graphics switching
o Perform an NVRAM and SMC reset on the MacBook
o Monitor ports need to match with the CalDigit Docking Station ports
§ For example, a CalDigit USB-C Pro Dock (with Display Port ports – to connect the monitors) will only work accordingly with a monitor(s) that have Display Port port(s). Using a VGA to Display Port adapter will not solve the problem; it has to be a direct connection (DisplayPort to DisplayPort, or VGA to VGA, or HDMI to HDMI)
