Unable to connect to VPN with Century Link

Common Signs or Symptoms:

  • Unable to find portal ‘blue-vpn.creighton.edu’ when using a Century Link Modem.  Error message is portal not available/portal not found.

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1.  First try to login to https://ami.creighton.edu to verify account your account is working. If your account is working,....
  2. Is your Internet service provider (ISP) Century Link and you're using a Century Link provided modem.( usually c4000xg f)

If both of these are true, then complete the steps below to resolve the issue:·        

        1.    Go to your modem settings 192.168.0.1

2.    Login and choose advanced setup.

3.    On the left-hand side select Security and then under 1. Set the Cyber Security state, choose Disable Modem Security and click Apply.

4.    Reboot the device you are trying to connect the VPN .

The issue will be resolved upon a reboot.
