How to Request an Apple App Store Purchase

How to Steps

  • For Apple mac and iPad users, to request an App from the Apple App store, there is a TeamDynamix form ticket now available.   This ticket is located in the service catalog under End User Computing and Software Licensing and Management.  Please open a ticket request.

  • When using the form, a serial number of the device is mandatory.
  • The application name should be written exactly as it is written on the Apple App Store.
  • If an application is free, there is no cost and the form can be submitted.
  • If the application is not free, a fund and organization will be required. This will then be submitted to a manager for approval. Once approved, Strategic Sourcing will perform the actual software purchase and inform myIT of the purchase.

Note:  If an application costs money, and the requester chooses to purchase the app through some other means without going through Strategic Sourcing or this process, myIT will not refund the purchase of that application.

  • Software purchased whether for a cost or for free, will be added to a licensing pool availability.   This will allow Creighton University to manage the software licenses.  This will allow myIT to monitor the number of the applications deployed as well as the number of applications available.    As long as a license is available, this software may be distributed equally among departments on campus.
  • Creighton provided Apple computers and ipads are managed by myIT.   myIT will scope the application for the requester's device. myIT will notify the requester that the application is now available for download.
  • The requester can open self-service on their device.   Self Service is a location that allows installation of software provided by myIT.  Installing through self-service does not require admin rights.
