How to Steps
To present materials, like PowerPoint, in Presenter mode while connected wirelessly, additional steps will need to be taken. You will need to be disconnected from any pods to proceed with the below steps.
- The Conference mode uses a large amount of system resources, tends to run more slowly than running without this mode enabled, and can be too resource-intensive for some systems.
- Inside the Solstice app, click the Conference button.
- Inside the Conference tab, click Install Drivers.
- Click Next on this screen.
- Next, click I accept… on the license terms and then click Next.
- Choose where to install it (We encourage you to use the default location.) Then click Next.
- Click Install.
- You will need administrator privileges for this step. If it is a Creighton device, this will require assistance from the myIT Service Desk.
- Once done installing, click Finish.
- Click the Back button to enable connecting to a room.
- With this add on installed, your device will default to Extended Presentation Mode, allowing for presenter mode when doing things like Power Point.
- If you already have Solstice installed, or you have just completed the above process to allow for Presenter mode, you will see the screen below when opening Solstice.
- In other areas of campus, you will see a list of Other Displays appearing for easier connection. WHSC locations will not appear on this list unless you have connected to the specific room.
- You will notice WHSC 209 is on the above list, this is demonstrating the program’s memory of a location that has been connected to.
- Locate the IP Address from the upper right corner of the room’s screen (see image below) and enter this address into the Enter screen key or display name area from step #11.
- You will then see a pop-up to enter the four-digit code from the screen.
- Once entered, you will be at the options for sharing content on the screen. (Sharing your Desktop tends to work best.)
- If your audio is not working, check the Auto Share Audio button under the Control menu
- When done using the wireless option, remember to click Disconnect to stop sharing your content.
