Error Signing Into Microsoft Applications

Common Signs or Symptoms:

  • A Something went wrong message appears when accessing Microsoft applications.  The message will be similar to the image below and is a common error for devices that have had the motherboard replaced.

Troubleshooting Steps:

Windows 11 Instructions

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. On the left-hand side, choose Accounts.
  3. Click Access work or school.
  4. Next to your Creighton email address, click the drop-down arrow then Disconnect.
  5. When a prompt appears asking "Are you sure you want to remove this account?", click Yes.
  6. Choose Connect on the top-right of the window.
  7. A Set up a work or school account pop-up will appear, enter your Creighton email address formatted as NetID@creighton.edu.
  8. Enter your Creighton email password, then choose Sign In.
  9. When complete, a message saying "You're all set" will appear. Click Done.
  10. Your Creighton email account will now be visible in Access work or school.
  11. Open a Microsoft application to confirm that the fix has taken effect.

Windows 10 Instructions (Similar with a few minor differences)

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. On the left-hand side, choose Email & Accounts.
  3. Click your Creighton email address, then Disconnect.
  4. When a prompt appears asking "Are you sure you want to remove this account?", click Yes.
  5. Choose Connect on the top of the window.
  6. A Set up a work or school account pop-up will appear, enter the your Creighton email address formatted as NetID@creighton.edu.
  7. Enter your Creighton email password, then choose Sign In.
  8. When complete, a message saying "You’re all set" will appear. Click Done.
  9. Your Creighton email account will now be visible in the Access work or school.
  10. Open a Microsoft application to confirm that the fix has taken effect.
