Fixing Windows Error 80090030 "TPM has malfunctioned"

Windows Error 80090030 often relates to issues with account settings, particularly when using work or school accounts tied to Microsoft services. This error can prevent access to various features, including encrypted files and applications.

Troubleshooting Steps:

One effective solution is to remove the work or school account from the device and then re-add it.

Remove the Work or School Account

  1.  Press Windows + I to open the Settings app.

  2. Navigate to Accounts and select Accounts.

  3. Select Access Work or School Accounts:from the left sidebar.

  4. Remove the Account:

    1. Locate the account you want to remove.
    2. Select it, and then press the Disconnect button.
    3. Follow the prompts to confirm the removal of the account.
  5. After removing the account, restart your computer to ensure all changes take effect.
  6. Repeat steps 1 through 3 and re-add the account.
