What should I expect when our building is transitioned to Webex Calling?

Answer

To better facilitate E 911 compliance, the Creighton phone system will be migrated to a new platform, WebEx Calling and will be rolled out by building.

This new phone system expands the ways you make and receive phone calls. Creighton’s new phone system will enable you to make and receive calls over the Internet using your computer, smartphone, or desk handset, all while retaining your existing Creighton phone number. This shift not only enhances mobility and flexibility but also aligns with our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint.

Additional things to know:

  • Your number/extension will stay the same.
  • Use of Long distance codes will be discontinued.
  • WebEx Calling will use your current NetID and Blue Password as a login.
  • The dial out digit will still be 9.
  • Voicemail to email will continue.
  • You may I keep your physical phone after the new WebEx Calling transition, but you aren't required to do so.
  • Physical classroom phones will remain.
  • Shared physical phones will remain in place.
