Answer
Decals must be placed on the inside lower passenger corner of the windshield. These decals are repositionable and are able to move from vehicle to vehicle as needed. The decal must be adhered to the windshield by the manufacturer's adhesive. Do not attempt to tape the permit to the windshield. The manufacturers adhesive is made for the elements, tape is not and if the decal falls and is lost a replacement will be needed at a $50 cost. Permits that are laminated or appear to be reproduced may be subject to a fraud investigation and escalated citations.
- Tip 1: If frequently moving a decal from vehicle to vehicle due to childcare, carpooling, or any other reason you can make it easier by leaving half of the plastic on the decal. This will allow for you to adhere the decal with the manufacturers adhesive while making it easier to grasp the decal for removal.
- Tip 2: If the decal gets dirty and is no longer sticking appropriately, you can rinse the decal under water, gently cleaning it of debris. Let the decal air dry, do not attempt to dry with a paper or fiber product.
Printed permits must be printed out and placed on the vehicle dash. Permits should be face up so that the permit number, plate number, and dates are visible. Do not fold permit to obstruct any part of needed information. Written notes or "permits" not given out by Parking services will not be considered. Pay special attention in winter months. Have the permit on the passenger side of the dash to allow the officer to easily wipe and area off and view it when there is snow.
Tip 1: If printing permits is cumbersome consider purchasing a decal instead. It is a one time purchase and you do not need to continually remember to purchase and print permits.
Tip 2: If you are receiving an error where the permit is print in random numbers and symbols try printing from another printer if possible, attempt to print the permit as an image/screen shot. or bring the bad print out to Parking Services to have a good one printed.
