Lenovo warranty repair process

Lenovo computers were ordered with three year warranties with an expected two-year out of warranty service life.  With the loss of Lenovo certified repair persons at Creighton, the process to have a Lenovo device repaired under warranty are listed below.  Any Lenovo device that is out of warranty and needs repair should be refreshed.

The first step in the process is to verify that the device is under warranty by checking the serial number and entering it at this page:
https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/warranty-lookup#/

If the device is still under warranty and needs repair, proceed to this page:
https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/contact-us

The first step will be to again enter the serial number of the device, and check either "Detect Product" or "Brose by Product".  If the computer is operable it will offer to download and install the Lenovo Service Bridge to automatically detect the serial number.  Answer the questions asked regarding the initial troubleshooting, with the most common answer being "not resolved" which will take you to the next step.  Once the initial troubleshooting steps are finished, it will take you to a new page where you have the option to "Submit a New Ticket".   Again follow the prompts which will ask for the technician's contact information so Lenovo can send a box to ship the device back for repair.  Complete the requested fields and in the "Client Ticket Reference Number" enter the TDX ticket number.  Once the form is submitted a Lenovo E-Ticket will be generated and this will include a PD Code, which is the Lenovo repair ticket number.  The technician will also receive one or more emails noting this information.  It is good practice to print the E-Ticket and emails as a PDF and include them as attachments to the TDX ticket.

Once the box arrives, note the tracking number on the label and add it to the ticket.  Box up the device and send it to the Lenovo Repair Depot.  A YouTube video on the box process is available at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwhIZ6SwiGY.

The device will be repaired and returned to the technician, who can then check it out before returning it to the user.  The technician should check to see if a new image needs to be installed, that the computer name is correct, and has a label noting the computer name.  The technician can then contact the user to give them their repaired device and collect a loaner (if one was given).  Update the TDX ticket as resolved.
