How to Steps
Portal Manager Overview
The Portal Manager is a self-service tool that allows users to install software without requiring administrative rights. It is part of the Ivanti Endpoint Manager suite, which is installed on Creighton-managed devices.
Optimal Use Conditions:
- For best results, ensure the device is directly connected to Creighton’s network.
- If the device has been offline or was recently powered on, it may take up to an hour before it's fully recognized by the system. Attempting a download too soon may result in failure.
- Devices not on the Creighton network must be connected to the VPN before initiating a software download.
Transition to Company Portal: Much of the functionality previously handled by Portal Manager has transitioned to the Company Portal application. However:
- Canon printer installations still rely on Portal Manager.
- SAS 9.4 software is also delivered through Portal Manager due to file size limitations in the Company Portal.
- To start locate the Portal Manager in the start menu under P.

- Click All to see everything listed.
- Click Printers for just Canon printers.
- Click Software which will display software but not show any printers.

- Click Install to start the install and allow the software to download to the device.
- Wireless networks generally have slower connections.
- Due to file size, SAS 9.4 can take up to an hour to download and install.
- Once the software has downloaded the installation will begin.
- Software will show successful
- If the software shows failed, and the device has been online with the Creighton network for at least an hour, contact the service desk for assistance.
- The service desk will check to see if the system can reach the device. If it can, they can attempt to repush of the software or they can contact Desktop Engineering to resolve the issue..
