Using the Self-Service Portal for Mac OS and Ipad OS

Prerequisites / Minimum Requirements

  • Creighton provided Mac OS or iPad OS device.

End State / Outcome

  • Familiarity with the Creighton myIT Mac OS & iPadOS self-service software portals.

How to Steps

The self-service application is a customer-facing portal designed to simplify software access and support. It offers a selection of applications and support tools, enabling users to independently manage their software needs. Wherever possible, myIT makes software readily available to enhance user convenience.

Faculty and staff can use this tool to resolve issues on their own, saving time and often avoiding the need for a technician visit or long wait times.

  1. The Self Service Applications are located in the Application Menu (Click Go then Applications or by clicking Apps in the dock).
  2. Open up the myIT self-service or self-service+ application.  In the future, self-service+ will replace the standard self-service app.  The only difference between the two is in the presentation.

  1. (Self Service) Click  All, or type in the search box.
  2. (Self Service+) Type in the search box.  Or Click Catalog and then click  All.
  3. Find the application and click Install.
    • Some Applications will show a required reading information screen.  Read the information and follow the instructions.

 Self-Service for iPad

The Self-Service application for iPad is a user-friendly portal that allows direct access to selected apps from the Apple App Store, without requiring an Apple ID.  Apps are added to Self-Service by myIT Desktop Engineers upon request. This streamlined approach eliminates the need to log into the App Store, making software installation faster and more secure.  All Self-Service apps include proper license management, allowing them to be easily transferred between iPads as needed.

  1. The latest iPad operating systems will prompt for apps requesting to show a notification.
  2.  Please allow the self-service prompts.  Click Allow.  Actual Notifications will be very few.
  3. Once you allow, you must click Continue.
  4. Any applications in self-service can be installed.  No admin rights or sign in is required.
  5. Please take advantage of myIT Self-Service.
