How to Steps
- Navigate to the following folder on the user’s system:
C:\Users\specific user\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default – Chrome
C:\Users\specific user\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default – Edge
- In this folder, there will be a file called Bookmarks.
- Copy this file.
- On the new machine, open up either the Chrome or Edge browser (this will create the folder labeled Default in the respective locations).
- Transfer the Bookmarks file from the old system to the new system (OneDrive, Email, USB Drive, etc…).
- Place the Bookmarks file in the same location:
C:\Users\specific user\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default – Chrome
C:\Users\specific user\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default – Edge
- The user’s bookmarks will now have been copied to the new system.
Note: If the bookmarks do not populate in the browser, close the browser & reopen
