Answer
Citations may only be appealed online through JayPark; no in-person or over the phone appeals will be accepted. Appeals must be received within 7 days of the date the citation was issued. Submitting and appeal does not guarantee that the appeal will be granted and it will not prevent more citations from occurring. The appeal must present substantial evidence that the parking violation was not committed, or the occurrence was due to circumstances beyond the appellant's control. The appeal process is not a venue for general criticisms, complaints, or policy debates. There is a maximum number of characters in the appeal narrative, but the appellant can provide documents with additional photos and written evidence.
The Appeals Review Panel will be provided all resources such as any provided by the appellant, time stamped photos from the citation, video footage from security cameras, and any other necessary resources.
Inappropriate, derogatory, abusive, or dishonest appeals will be escalated to the appropriate parties such as, Human Resources, Supervisors/Managers, Student Conduct, Athletics, and/or Deans offices.
Appeals are reviewed through out the year by an anonymous panel of students and employees from various areas on campus.
The decision of the Appeal Review Panel is final. Parking Services cannot/will not override their decision.
